Early in my career, I worked closely with skilled craftspeople, gaining hands-on experience that shaped my practical understanding of construction and attention to detail. I have over 30 years' experience within Architecture and have worked throughout the UK on a wide variety of projects from inception to completion supporting my clients throughout their development. Initially I work with the client to get their ideas and desires into drawings which I then develop into either Planning drawings, or Working drawings for Building Regulation approval and costing depending what stage the project is at. I especially love working within the residential sector as one of my degrees is Interior Design and I feel this area gives me the opportunity to incorporate more of these skills. I also have a special interest in historic buildings and have undertaken numerous projects on historic buildings, some listed and within conservation areas. One project was the conversion and alterations to a grade 2 listed town house for which I won a LABC building excellence award. Buildings need to breath to provide happy, healthy environments for us to live and work. How we design and specify building alterations, treatments and materials will ensure these buildings can continue to provide happy, healthy environments for us to use for many years to come.
