We employed DOVE architecture to design a 2 storey extension on our house. They took time to listen to our needs for the build; James spent time going through different options with us and it was clear he had experience of what the end results would be. The 3D drawings really helped us visualise the designs. In the end, we agreed on plans which went through planning permission without any hitches. Building regulations drawings were produced and also construction details. During the build, we could easily contact James to discuss how things were going with respect to the design and help sort any problems with the builder. We were very pleased with the end result and the extension has made our house a fantastic home. We would definitely recommend DOVE architecture.

Extensions- 10 Jun 2026
Scott abandoned the work in the middle of winter after collecting several thousands of £££ in advance without completing or making safe (see attached photos). Due to poor quality of even the seemingly completed works (e.g inappropriate roof pitch/tiles/truss, improperly installed doors/windows & rising damp on internal plaster boards) the work was rejected by building control and I've had to pay another contractor again to remediate. Scott started the work on 15 Sept 2025 but abandoned site at the end of Feb 2026 with doors/windows/radiators only partially installed. Scott had originally committed to a 12 week build for completion before Christmas 2025 but the work dragged till end of Feb 2026 when the work was eventually abandoned. I have decided to take the matter to court after several unsuccessful attempts to get Scott back to finish the work or refund the cost of repairing / completing his work which is about £20k in addition to the roughly £70k I have already paid Scott.

We engaged Gavin for a garage design that was not as straightforward as it seemed, Gavin came to the rescue and very swiftly produced the design in the correct format and submitted it to planning, he is now liaising with the planning department on our behalf. His fees are very competitive and his work is highly professional. We liked his unpretentious manner, he is a good listener and gave us some helpful suggestions. He is punctual, courteous and super speedy with his work and communications. I would not hesitate to engage him again should we ever need an architect in the future.

Darren did an excellent job of building stone walls and driveway pillars at my home. He was polite and did his utmost to make sure I chose the exact materials I required. Him and his assistant worked tirelessly in very hot conditions and tidied everything away every evening. His quote was reasonable and his professionalism was exemplary. Barry has designed our loft conversion and provided us with an outstanding drawings. He was always available for questions and if anything needed to be changed it was never an issue. He is an excellent architect who has been exceptionally helpful throughout this stressful project.The drawings he has provided were detailed, easy to understand and managed to offer us options to turn the staircase around without having to lose the box room. I have already recommended him to friends and will certainly use his services in the future if needed.
