I began my career at London Heritage Properties Ltd, where I was involved in every stage of development—from sourcing properties and designing schemes to submitting planning applications and managing projects. I designed and managed three major developments, including five residential units and two four-bedroom maisonettes with basement construction. Most construction was completed in-house, with only electrical and plumbing work subcontracted. I later joined an architectural practice, contributing to 80+ projects over two years, including extensions, conversions, and large-scale new builds. I prepared planning applications and detailed Building Control packages, including structural calculations and construction drawings. I am Matteo Scarpellini, an architectural designer with a deep passion for parametric design and sustainability, which was a central focus of my dissertation for the March RIBA Part 2 qualification at the University of East London. I am excited about the opportunity to work in the UK again, especially after having returned to Italy due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
