I offer architectural design services to suit various requirements within the design and construction industry. I have a Bachelors (BArch) and a Masters (MArch) in Architecture. I now have 8 years of experience working self employed on architectural design projects in the domestic sector, working with private clients or directly for contractors. I’ve drawn up and coordinated designs with engineers for building control approval and steel fabrication intent information, as well as applying for local water board build over agreements and completing associated drainage drawings. I have over 15 years of hands-on construction experience, building my first home and renovation many more since, from new builds to rear, side and loft extensions. I’ve maintained my primary profession working on large scale projects ranging from £50-400m for the last 10 years, spending the last 4/5 years managing project consultant teams of up to 100 across multiple disciplines such as; structural engineers, mechanical, electrical & public health (MEP) engineers, cladding engineers, lighting designers, landscape designers, planners. Giving me a broad understanding across multiple construction trades and project stages. I am Matteo Scarpellini, an architectural designer with a deep passion for parametric design and sustainability, which was a central focus of my dissertation for the March RIBA Part 2 qualification at the University of East London. I am excited about the opportunity to work in the UK again, especially after having returned to Italy due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the past two years, I have worked in Italy as a qualified "Junior Architect," developing a range of public and private projects. I moved back to UK, where I am eligible to work, eager to pursue my Part 3 qualification and advance my career. In my 3 years working experience I have developed a strong ability to fast adapt to new building regulations in various locations like Italy, USA, and Dubai, and now I am ready for an experience in UK. I have also experienced the role of working site manager assistant, which has given me a deep connection with choices taken during design time.
