Kitchen Fitting

Do I remove an old kitchen worktop before replastering?

Anonymous user 13/03/2024 - 2.31 PM

I am getting my kitchen replastered do i fit the new worktop before it is replastered or after? The existing worktop with the sink in has been fitted to close to the wall and I am worried that the new plaster will be over the old worktop and when we remove it it will damage the new plaster - please help!

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If your not having splash backs or tiling then it will be worth removing the existing worktops then plaster. Then scribe your new worktops to the new plaster wall .

remove the worktop, plaster and then fit new worktop then you should have a good fit(providing the plasterer does a good job), regards Terry.
