Shower leaked into plaster wall - how long would the damp take to dry out?

Anonymous user 4 March 2014 - 10.52 PM

I had a problem with my shower and it was leaking into the plaster wall for maybe a few months. I fixed the leak but by that time the damp has raised up about a meter into the plaster. How long would the damp take to dry out and do I need to replace the plaster? Or maybe the problem is something else

You may need to hire a dehumidifier. I would leave this in there for about 5 days and then assess the progress. You might want to have this replastered if there appears to be damage.
