Final outcome was good. Lads were all friendly and efficient and always cleaned up afterwards. However, communication was sometimes unhelpful eg Q: when will you be here? A: later today. Some misunderstandings about the extent of the job so ensure he fully understands and has noted what is required.

Conversions - General- 19 May 2026
John’s team did a good job I am really happy with the result. I wanted to remove a load bearing wall between the lounge and the kitchen for a kitchen dining area. Span 2.8 meters. After an initial visit ca. 30 min I was confident he will do the work. He suggested structural calculations and I had to send an application to the council. I found this suggestion very helpful. John did take care the structural calculations for the steel beam and ordered the skip to remove the old bricks. The actual job was planned for the Saturday but because John’s Van was not available we agreed to postpone it to Sunday. Finally the team arrived the Tuesday by lunchtime. This was a letdown a bit. Also my wife became a bit annoyed. She felt the job is never going to happen. That all caused misunderstanding. The job itself went very quick half a day. They did ask questions to agree on the beam position and explained what the job is going to involve. The quality of the job was excellent.

Simon at SS Masonry did a super job of repairing a wall on the pavement in Windermere that had been knocked down by a learner driver!! As this was work carried out for the Council quotes did have to be provided first but Simon got in touch about the job, was excellent at communicating and came when he said he would with his team and repaired the wall better than ever. Thank you Simon, highly recommended.

plastered an exterior wall that now had become an interior wall in our conservatory....prompt visit with a good and reasonable quote. job was booked in there and then. job was carried out as planned and took couple days, job was done good and builders cleaned up after themselves. they got on and got the job done explaining what was happening as the end of each visit. fully recommend brett and his guys. will use them again .....
