  Iain Thompson and Sandy did the work; they re roofed our extension, sorted out extraction in kitchen and bathroom, retiled the bathroom and kitchen, floor tiles through kitchen and bathroom, fitted new radiator, bath, sink and lavatory, sorted out the front door floor wet rot (rapidly so it was done when the children came home), and redecorated the kitchen, bathroom and front stairs. The different elements would normally have needed 4 tradesmen (plumbing, some wiring, tiling, roofing) but they did it all to a very high standard. The other factors that made it a pleasure were as follows: 1 When you explained something to Iain he understood what you wanted; if there were issues he would suggest other approaches, all aimed at getting us what we wanted rather than making it easier for him 2 The kids got on with them both and we were comfortable with them being around and they cleared up the minimal mess they made Due to difficulties caused by some rot in the kitchen they ran slightly over time BUT nevertheless kept to the agreed budget. Les and Iain's strengths are that they are both very switched on, and put themselves in your place; it seemed that getting it right for us was the priority. In addition the breadth of skills mean that they can do most work without having to involve other sub contractors. Finally their determination not to leave you in the lurch with a job unfinished is obvious and gave us a great deal of confidence.

Work History

Over the years I have worked extensively throughout Central Scotland with several of the national companies on large commercial projects and on several large housing sites. Since setting up my own company I have completed one-off new build projects in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Trossachs area.

Over that period I have carried out and completed numerous extensions including loft and garage conversions, property renovations, refurbishment to houses and offices - some of which have had extensive structural work carried out on them.

I have also worked closely with clients in the role of "client's adviser and its this experience that I've brought into the company for the benefit of all my clients.

Qualifications & Accreditations

I have over 40 years experience within the construction industry (qualified to HNC Building level), having successfully managing numerous contracts within the Central Scotland area for large national contractors.

Starting my own company in 1996, I feel that I have now developed a company based on integrity offering a closely worked relationship with each of my individual clients.

My son Iain has now joined me, bringing with him his own high skill levels to site - from groundworks, drainage to finishing works. Our skills are based on the following criteria:
