Onix IV reviews (49)
Review from carina_jade, Woodford, London Review left on 14 Feb 2020Rating: 1 out of 5Brick Cleaning / Exterior Redecoration - HouseDO NOT USE. Onyx’s work left highly visible and substantial damage! It will cost me £500 to fix through a new builder. Onyx’s owner refuses to respond to me! I have spent months attempting to contact him (via email / phone or mybuilder.com message) during which time he has promised on several occasions to come back to fix the damage but then never shows. This happened at least 3 times. I hate leaving bad reviews for anything or anyone but at this stage I have no choice. I will be proceeding to small claims court to try and recoup the money spent to fix their damage. 😞😞😞Review from david58326, Wanstead, London david58326, Wanstead, London
Review left on 11 Jul 2019Rating: 3 out of 5The kitchen refurbished(Updated on 21 Jul 2019)CEILING AND JOIST WORK VERY GOOD STANDARD . BUT ELECTRICAL BELOW STANDARD WE REQUIRED IT DID NOT HELP WITH THE LANGAUGE BARRIER .EVEN WITH DETAILED DRAWINGS WHERE POINTS WERE TO BE.Answer from tradesperson:
Hi , we have not made any changes to our team since we completed last three jobs , as you can see we had electrician work with no fuses there , ,we gave electrician certificate for Olivia Watts and Hugh Hobson . We discussed with David after he changed his mind where the points should be .He had some misunderstanding with our electrician he phoned me and after my visit to site we put it where he wants to be put and he were satisfied at least he said that then . 2 months after work completion he is not too sure of our electric works. We keep do our best to keep every customer satisfied .

Review left on 25 Jun 2019Rating: 5 out of 5Renovating Kitchen and Utility RoomI hired Ivaylo and his team to renovate our kitchen and utility room. They provided a very reasonable quote and completed the work exactly as asked. They are trustworthy and organised. Ivaylo as communicated well with me, ensuring we felt in control of the choices made. Thanks for all the hard work!Review from gabrielladm, Dalston, London gabrielladm, Dalston, London
Review left on 15 May 2019Rating: 3 out of 51 room refurb, building partition wall re plastering(Updated on 21 May 2019)This is a classical case of a 'you get what you pay for' and in my case I still think I paid more than I should have. The work was overall OK and of an average quality, however the finish was poor especially I have noticed after a few weeks, and there was nearly no attention to details. for example, some openable panels where left to be open only with a screw which was painful and impossible to open as well. On top of that, they tried to fix the handle's system of a door with glue which is an absurd way of fixing it, I have then been told by another builder who managed to sort the issue with the handle. Also, all the lovely wooden door frames I chose that they fixed have screws silver colour and visible and there are visible gaps. I think Ivaylo and his team are ok for jobs where the details and the finish are not really fundamental. I would say they are better than many more but the overall finish and quality of the work is not great. As most builders, they were reluctant to come back after all money were paid. On a positive note, they accepted to mount stuff during the works without requesting extra money e.g. bunk bed. I think intensions there are good but the problem it is they lack finishing skills and attention to details skills.Answer from tradesperson:
We finished the job in February and we has been offered extra work installation of two doors in flat which we done and paid in full for original and extra work ,it was not any indication that customer is not satisfied of work finishes .in February. Otherwise we act accordingly and make best possible finish for her .

Review left on 10 Apr 2019Rating: 3 out of 5Water damage proofing and restorationDue to work commitments, i instructed Ivaylo to undertake this work in my absence. This meant that I expected regular reports on progress and updates. I had to chase repeatedly for information which often left me anxious and uncertain. He did respond after time but mostly after chasing. As far as I am aware, the work was completed although repeated requests to see images of the work undertaken were not forthcoming. Unfortunately I am unable to verify whether the work was completed to a high standard or not as I have no evidence of the final product which is a shame.Review from helen65490, Upper Holloway, London helen65490, Upper Holloway, London
Review left on 8 Feb 2019Rating: 5 out of 5Repointing and external brick repair(Updated on 12 Feb 2019)Ivaylo assessed the work to be done and investigated further to spot where a potential source of leak was, carrying out extra repairs as well as repointing. The repointing is neat and looks like it fits in with the rest of the wall. I have since employed him to carry out other works and would certainly think about using him again in the future.Review from megan23354, Wood Green, London megan23354, Wood Green, London
Review left on 30 Jan 2019Rating: 1 out of 5Replace door and two windows with a french door.(Updated on 1 Feb 2019)A horrific experience - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Ivaylo seemed to understand our requirements but on the day turned up with a worker who didn’t and didn’t speak any English so we couldn’t communicate and presumably had no bricklaying training. He proceeded to smash the lintel which we’d agreed with building control would stay in situ to meet the requirements and then tried to fix the brickwork arch by bricking straight across horizontally without any support which even an amateur could know is not structurally sound. Ivaylo agreed and sent a different brick layer the next day but he didn’t finish rectifying all the errors and the next day the debt us the first guy again! We got home to find the whole arch removed and whole opening redone completely contrary to building control guidance (and some of our own tools missing!). It tookover a month to get building control approval and hours of stress and misery that I will never get back. And cost a fortune!Answer from tradesperson:
We are a bit surprised from negative feedback customer left . She paid us in full after agreed £1260 for work which is below £1500-£2000 budget she advertised . We got also approval from building control of the work which we done . I have tried to contact her regarding the tools are missing because we understood that from feedback "they are some tools is missing" and she did not get back to me yet . We keep doing our best to satisfy our customers.

Review left on 16 Mar 2018Rating: 5 out of 5Repair of garden wall/gate postGood builder, good job, reasonable price. Communication was excellent and the small bricklaying/repair job was done to a very good standard. Panayot, who repaired my crumbling gate post did the job in a very timely manner, managed to locally source and fix parts when an extra issue arose. A very good experience.
