We instigate and operate throughout all our contractual works, a Quality Assurance System to ensure the satisfactory quality of all garden hard-landscaping, block paving and stone-sett installations under our responsibility. Qualifications & Accreditations
The standard “Installation Practice for Block Paving” is stringently adhered to by our teams of dedicated and experienced tradesmen. A chronological description of any domestic contract is documented below:
Excavate and remove off site all pertinent waste material, trim formation to falls and prevent any future subsidence by further excavating any soft spots to firm ground and backfilling in well rammed quality hard-core.
Realign service points to new levels and undertake all necessary drainage requirements.
Install mandatory edge restraints, bedded on and haunched with 1:3:6 CP25 mix concrete.
Remove all vegetable matter from sub-terrain, spray complete excavation with a strong weed-killer and thoroughly compress ground.
Spread, level and consolidate DOT Type1 granular aggregate establishing an ideal sub-base for any vehicular application.
Spread, level, compact and screed river-washed sharp sand, congruous to BS7533(1997), forming a perfectly even laying surface.
Resurface in conventional block paving or traditional stone-setts, manufactured and supplied by leading producers, ensuring all blocks are butt jointed and selected in pack rotation to alleviate the possibility of colour banding.
Trim all relevant blocks to shape and size, with a diamond bladed saw, in order to form a neat perimeter border and work around any obstructions such as drains, manholes, garden beds etc.
Seal and bond all joints by brushing in a finely grained kiln-dried silver sand.
Level and compact completed works with a medium application rubber- matted plate vibrator.
Remove all resulting debris and generally tidy site.
