Case study #1 - Exeter Road, London. Project Value £390,000

Job specification:
Renovation and extension of a five bedroom Edwardian period detached property in North West London

Our role:
• Liaison with Clients, Highways Agency, Architect, Structural Engineer, Building Inspector, Sub-contractors and Suppliers
• Erection of enclosed top-hat scaffolding enabling continuation of works to roof and superstructure during all weather conditions
• Partial removal, replacement and enlargement of the cut roof, incorporating new structural steel beams and tying in vaulted roof structures
• Construction of new ground floor extension and second floor domer roof extension
• Remodelling of structural walls including construction of new masonry superstructure with London stock brick face work
• Construction a new first floor flat roof and roof terrace with architectural metal railings
• Restoration of original fireplaces, joinery, plaster cornicing and parquet floors
• Installation of three new bathrooms and open plan kitchen

Case study #2 - The Old Vicarage, Coalpit Heath, Bristol. Project Value £250,000

Job specification:
Renovation and conversion of Coach House, construction of new double garage and extensive landscaping works to a Grade II* listed property

Our role:
• Creation of all scopes of work and specifications including design advice
• Provision of technical drawings and structural calculations in respect of a new cut roof, architectural skylights and piled foundations
• Liaison with Architect, Structural Engineer, Building Inspector, Sub-contractors, Conservation Officer, Tree Officer and Environmental Officer
• Installation of piled and ring beam foundations to double garage, necessitated by poor ground conditions and building over root zones of protected trees
• Reduced level dig and underpinning of historic stone structure
• Preservation of a historic building, use of locally quarried building stone with traditional lime mortar, recreation of traditional cut roof with exposed purlins and a-frames
• Solid oak internal stairs, balustrades and doors
• Renovation and alterations to swimming pool including installation of new pump, lighting and filtration systems, new lining and natural stone copings
