• Painting & new carpets communal area; paint 2 bed flat (Painting & Decorating)

  Stuart was very punctual and polite, and gave a very clear quote for painting and paint costs (check the amount of paint on the quote though!). Stuart came back to fix tiny bits missed (wall plugs, a section of window frame). Having painted the whole flat I expected a few things like that, and appreciated Stuart coming straight back to fix them. Also although Stuart polyfillaed over the wall plugs, they weren't flush to the wall so show as horrid lumps, and he didn't reply to my question about whether he'd return to smoothe it down. I later I realised a whole side of a doorframe hadn't been painted, and a window hadn't been opened when painted so the bottom of the frame isn't painted, that doesn't look good. Overall however, those are tiny niggles and they accomodated my tight timeframe and managed a lot in the space of a week.
  I wasn't impressed with the carpet options though - they didn't give my any indication of cost differences between the different samples, and only showed my very cheap looking samples although I said they looked too cheap - because I'd said I didn't want to spend more than necessary, but I'd also said I didn't want shiny plasticky looking carpet. They were going to send more samples but never did. So I'd definitely recommend them for painting (although I'd get more than quote on cost), but my experience with their carpeting service was pretty poor. I'd rate the painting as positive and the carpet service as negative.

  Thank you for the feedback Louise, however regarding the door frame and window I was not aware that these sections had been missed from the snagging otherwise these would of course have been rectified as with the other snags. The brief was to prepare the flat for sale and the timescale and price was extremely tight. Regarding carpets, the samples shown were those within the budget so having seen the samples the client decided not to re-carpet throughout as previously planned.
