Nick and his colleague did a great job replacing various crumbling bricks, blocking up unneeded air vents, covering air bricks and re-pointing small sections of the outside wall where we had problems with penetrating moisture. They were very friendly and freely offered their advice where needed. We would definitely hire them again.

From the monent Nick and his team arrived at my address to give me a quote for a large patio to be laid I felt that I could trust him. I did not bother with any other quotes as I felt he was of excellent character. He turned up at the time he said everyday, put a full days work in everyday and left the site tidy. Nick informed me of any issues that arose during the work process, was polite, proffessional and informative. Nicks workmanship is too a very high standard and his experience shows in the work he has done for me. Due to poor weather Nick returned to finish the pointing up but contacted me daily via phone. Great communication skills, really wanting the customer to be pleased. There was no stress involved with Nick and the team everything I asked to be done was done. Its warming to know that there are still decent, honest tradesman out there. Nicks mobile number is saved on the phone, he will be the first person I invite back for future work to be completed.

Nick made a lovely job of repairing a wall at the back of my property. It needed to remain old looking, as the property is listed and I didn't want it to look brand new. Nick knew exactly what to do and it blends in beautifully. They also expertly replaced a rotting window sill which is now looking really good. They arrived early to start the job and worked through. They were excellent at clearing up afterwards. Definately use them again.

The job we needed doing was quite a big job, i.e. removal of chimney stack & breast,making good the roof tiles, timbers, batons & felt.
Also making good chimney breast area after removal,by means of having it all tied in and plastered to match and run level with surrounding walls.
In addition to this, we also required a wall to be put up with door access, creating a third bedroom for us, with a nice plaster finish.
finaly Nick, leveled off the floor area where the old fire-place used to be.
would i use Nick and his team again ? simple, would'nt hessitate.
started the job with a confident approach, and carried on through with proffessionalism.
I would recomend Nick, to anyone who needed a job well done.

Nick is obviously experienced (brick laying), the work is carried out to a professional standard and his 100% positive rating is entirely justified. Honest, helpful, flexible and knowledgeable, I trusted Nick to get on with the work, knowing he understood our requirements. Regarding Nick's first appointment, he had a job cancellation and pro-actively turned up at the property to begin work on our wall while we were at work (he didn't need access to the house at that time). He spoke with our neighbours to let them know he would be beginning work as he had arrived earlier than arranged and needed to work from their drive. He helpfully agreed an additional job for them as they wanted membrane laying down under the gravel. Everyone was happy. Nick and colleague were punctual on the second and final visit. He tidied up after himself and the finished job is very neat - we're pleased with the result. Wouldn't hesitate in recommending Nick.

I was delighted with the speed and competence of this tradesman. Nicholas turned up at the agreed time [ 7.30] and started work as soon as he had looked at the shed and surrounding area. He did not stop work [ was being watched by the dog from bedroom window!! ] and the shed was demolished and taken away within a couple of hours. No mess left behind. I would certainly not hesitate to use Nicholas again.

We hired Nick after getting quotes from several tradesmen on MyBuilder, who just seemed intent on ripping us off. Nick was the only tradesman that we trusted to be giving use sound advice - he was extremely knowledgeable and answered every question we had about the work we had. Nick gave us a competitive quote and completed a superb job to a high standard, and was flexible in working around our busy work schedule. Would highly recommend - we even hired Nick to complete some extra work at the back of our house.

Really pleased with the job Nick did on my garden. He turned up early every day and was constantly checking in with me to make sure I was happy with how everything was going and explaining what he'd be doing next. Even my neighbours observed 'what a grafter' he was' while I was away during the day.
He's also very trustworthy, being entrusted with a set of my keys for the duration of the project.
Some minor gripes:
- Nick and team were generally good at keeping everything clean and tidy but there were a couple of mishaps - some mortar splashed all over a young fir tree and some grubby marks on my carpet left by walking on it with dirty wet socks. The clean-up jobs were only partially successful.
- I found Nick a little difficult to communicate with 'artistically'. I'd explained at length that I was looking for a rustic look with my patio rather than precision lines, so planned to use reclaimed bricks. When these arrived he claimed that at least a third (out of 2,200) were unusable, which caused me some difficulty with the brick merchant. In the event, however, we were able to use all of them (except the small surplus left over) as they were exactly what I required - and the resulting patio looks perfectly robust.
That said, these things are only minor and on balance, I would definitely hire Nick and team again.

A fantastic job done by Nick and his team, which has transformed our old, tired and uneven patio. It wasn’t the easiest of jobs, with lots of hard digging and heavy slabs to remove in the blazing sunshine. However, the guys started early, worked hard all day and are highly skilled in their work. Nick is especially good with communicating exactly what work is being done each day and the whole project was complete to the timescale that he set out. We are now looking forward to enjoying the patio through the summer months.

Very happy with Nick's work - grinding out damaged pointing, washing out and repointing to seal. He installed 3 additional airbricks and took out a number of damaged bricks, replacing them with new ones. On top of that he helped us out by fixing 2 window seals and repairing part of the front wall that had come loose - without charging extra for it. Great help, carried out the work swiftly and took the time to talk us through what needed doing and why - recommended!

The work I had done was my front garden which is quite big and Nick and his team dug up my lawn laid membrane down and then covered it with shingles, they also got rid of all the overgrown weeds that were growing all around my drive, what a difference when I returned home to see how great my front was.
I would also say that I was quite comfortable leaving Nick to carry out all the work when I had to go to work myself and he was always here on time.

Cellar Covertion (Groundwork & Foundations)

This is the second time that Nick has carried out work for me and once again I have been very pleased with the end result.
There was a substantial amount of clearence to be done,before the process of digging out the cellar could commence. This was carried out swiftly and Nick immediatley commenced lowering the floor, this proved harder than expected because of the flint/chalk nature of the ground - in fact Nick finally removed 3 skips worth of debris. Despite putting the job back, Nick pulled out all the stops and rapidly completed the laying of the membrane and concrete floor.
Once the floor had gone off the ceiling was boarded and the stud walls installed, complete with insulation.
At this stage the external cellar access was capped off and air bricks installed.
With no delay the job was completed by walls and ceilings being plastered to a very high standard.
The job was completed on time and to budget, mainly due to Nick's effective management of the budget and constant communication with myself.
As previously, I was more than happy to allow Nick access to my property in my absence. The team that Nick brought along were also all very good workers.
I would not hesitate to recommend Nick to anybody for both the excellent end result and upfront/honest approach to the way he works.

The guys worked really hard to get the job completed with minimum disruption, on time and on budget - they even chucked in several extras at no extra charge including building a large step, removal of a huge number of logs left in my garden and made good a considerable gap around my patio doors left after another had company fitted my bi-fold door. The guys were very punctual, started early, very polite and offered loads of advice to boot. I had no concerns leaving them alone to work at my home. In fact it was a pleasure to have them around and not at all stressful. Nick and his crew did a superb job installing our deck. Nick and his people worked very hard and finished the job to a high standard in very short order. It is an amazing addition to our home and we are thrilled with it; we absolutely and unreservedly recommend Nick.
Nick's attention to detail and passion for getting a job right is apparent in the quality of the work. The deck is level, square and sturdy with no noticeable 'spring' when walked upon. There are minimal gaps between the boards to allow for the natural swelling and contracting of the timber, but not so wide that it is possible to see straight through. The posts and frame are under-laid with a thick membrane to further reduce light hitting the soil and so inhibit weed growth. The deck is precisely cut around the corners and piping and removable access areas were made over the manhole and drains. A lovely planter was constructed with the excess timber at no extra cost and finishes the project perfectly.
Not only was Nick's workmanship of a high standard, he and his crew took care to protect our wooden and tiled floors and ensured that the the site was fully tidied before finishing for the day. He would arrive when expected and communicated clearly throughout the project. Again, we can confidently recommend Nick and hope you enjoy your deck as much as we enjoy ours.

Nick did 2 jobs for me both quite tricky. He repaired and strengthened a section of my boundary wall that my side gate hung on. Achieved a perfect match with the bricks and left the site spotless which is not easy when cement drops all over the place.
I have a drive in/drive out driveway one side of which had slipped badly causing gaps to appear and side blocks to become displaced. Nick lifted and replaced that half of the driveway and cleverly managed to match up the lines with the other side.
Nick always kept me up to date with any likely problems and always explained what he was doing - no corners were cut.
I was very pleased with his work, and more importantly, so was my wife.
His pricing structure is fair and no extras were added.
I will be sending him some before and after photos so that he can demonstrate the work that he has done to potential customers.

As soon as Nick and his team had finished my garden wall, I was so pleased with the result I felt I had to tell everyone looking for a bricklayer about their high standards and attention to detail.
I had a garden wall built about four years ago by someone claiming to be a bricklayer. As the adverse weather took its toll, it soon became apparent that THE cheapest blocks had been used. The red brick pillars weren't straight and, apart from looking an eyesore, it was obvious this wall was not safe.
I chose Nick because I was fed up with being stung by cowboys - I knew this job would cost me about £5000.00 so I had to have someone with a large feedback....someone I could trust not to rip me off.
When the quotes came in from Nick, not only were they considerably less than £5000.00 but you could tell he knew what he was talking about.
A family friend of a friend in the trade got me the materials and the skips so I only needed Nick's labour. He didn't have a problem with that.
I am very grateful to Nick and his team for all the little extras they did for us.
The wall looks fantastic and I will definitely have Nick back again to do the rest of my paths in due course.

As soon as he had finished my wall to move onto my front garden path, I just KNEW the end result was going to be good.
Once again,we were treated to Nick's experience and enthusiam for the task at hand. What was once an uneven path that would not have withstood another bad winter, is now an eyecatching neat block paved path.
What sets the path off is the little extras Nick did for us - namely, he replaced the 52 year old garden gate posts with two impressive red brick pillars and two flat bricks AND even fitted my new garden gate as well.
I am so pleased with all the work undertaken by Nick and his team and will definitely be asking him back.

I posted a job for my steps to the rear garden to be moved and patio laid, Nick offered to view the jobin the evening,he arrived on time and spent time explaining to me what would be involved and pointed out where there may be problems and suggested possible solutions.

Garden Wall/Landscaping in Battersea SW11 (Bricklaying)

Our garden was a steeply inclined, grassy good-for-nothing space and Nick and his team have successfully turned it into somewhere we intend spending every spare Summer moment in! It feels much larger and much more private and when we get the green stuff in - will be even more wonderful.

The broken wooden fence was replaced by a six foot brick wall - the brickwork is superb.
A two-tiered patio now replaces the grass.
Extra features were added as the project went along - at no extra cost - including a much larger flower bed than originally planned, and a step.

The job ran exactly to schedule and Nick was always on time. For the majority of the project we were out at work during the day and were very happy to give him a key to come and go as needed. The house was cleaned up at the end of each day.

The project raised several difficulties - especially due to the fact that there was no rear access to the garden and MUCH hard graft was involved bringing the materials to the back and carrying 4 skip-loads of soil (!) and waste to the front.

Originally we had thought that a series of drains would mean a 3 tier garden, but very early on, Nick let us know he could make it two tier only - even though this meant a lot more soil removal and adjustment - giving us the much more useable space.

We were always impressed with the care given to how the finished look would be e.g. ensuring the patio slabs were laid so as to be central to the back door, and laying them on cement not just sand; adding the red brick top to the brick wall - because it looks better than all yellow. The extra thought translates to results.

Would not hesitate to recommend Nick to anyone and hope to be able to hire him again in the future once we start on the house itself.

Instalation of Gallows Brackets on Chimney Stack (Chimneys & Fireplaces)

I chose Nick on My builder for the removal and support of a small chimney stack in a bedroom. This was based on his excellent feedback and it was clear he has much experience in this job as well as a reasonable quotation.
Nick explained thoroughly what was required and completed the job to specificaion. There were a few issues which turned up during the job which could not have been anticipated. Nick put these right despite it taking more time and matrials. He also removed the took down the whole chimney stack for me and helped bag up the rubble despite only quoting for just the chimney support.
All in all i am very pleased with the work that was completed and would definatly recommend and use Nick again for this type of job.

Nick carried out a chimney removal with complicated steel work as specified by the council. He was always on time and was very competitive on price he even informed my neighbours about the work he was carring out. He was very professional and had no problems completing the work to a exceptional standard an even done some extra work for me at no charge! He kept me up to date with every thing that was happening and left every where clean and tidy when he left. Nick gave a good price and did double the work of what other tradesmen have quoted me for. He was honest and kept me updated on progress every step of the way and informed me of any problems, always making sure that we saw for ourselves any issues he found before progressing.
He gave lots of free friendly advice and would be honest and not take carry out work he was unfamiliar with, but instead offer guidance and how to go about it.
He turned up on time and did the job within the time frame he stated. Overall very polite and professional.
I've already asked him to help me fix some other problems after the holiday period, so looking forward to seeing him again

Nick was punctual, friendly and pleasant. The job turned out to be more complicated than anticipated. This was due to Nick not seeing job in the flesh, as it was quoted online from a photo and my verbal description.
He completed some pointing for me instead then turned up next day with assistance to carry out the slightly more complicated job replacing and adjusting the guttering (which also required hiring of different ladder) at an extra agreed budget.
All in all I was pleased with his work and would recommened him. He also cleaned up well after himself.

Chimney Stack Removal: I was pleasently impressed Nick & his team were very organised and profesional, the chimney came out very quickly, neatly, cleanly and without any fuss. The bricks were cut out gently, no smashing into with hammers and drills which I've seen before! Nick is a positive guy which is what you want on site, he takes charge, no complaints or fuss just confidence and solutions. The steelwork was A+ professional even the concil inspector is impressed! Very clean job.

A great surprise tonight to walk in from work to find a very well built and solid fire place. Nick and his team have done a great job, made a real working focal point to the lounge. Garden Clearance (Landscape Gardening)

Nick and his team were brilliant. They arrived on time each day, did what was agreed and more (fitting some shelves for no extra cost) and were extremely friendly to deal with. They cleared the overgrown garden, dismantling a shed and greenhouse and chopping overhanging trees. They also did some kitchen work - removing an island unit, repositioning a cupboard and worksurface. In addition they dismantled fitted units in 2 alcoves (filling any holes and restoring the coving above) and removed 2 fireplaces (completing with plasterboard and replastering over). The whole lot was done in 2 days with a lovely tidy clean-up at the end of each day. Thanks Nick, Lee and Liam. Great job.

They have even removed all the remaining weeds from their roots rather than just to cut them down which was a very tiring task, and lay down the weed control fabric and tree barks.
