• Fitting a bamboo wood floor. (Flooring)

  John fitted a bamboo wood floor for us throughout two rooms and a hallway downstairs. He carried out the work thoroughly and to a high standard. It looks excellent.Also he was willing to help out with extra jobs such as moving furniture which made it all more manageable for us. I can highly recommend him and we already have plans to use him again if he is not too busy.

  I was looking for a builder experienced in sound proofing to building regulations standard. I am not convinced Jon was as he seemed unsure what was required so we had to have a sound specification prepared by a sound engineer for Jon to work to. During the course of the work we did ask Jon to do a number of other jobs, most of which he did for us. His work was always of a very good standard. My main problem with Jon was his not turning up at times he had agreed to and not finishing jobs he had started, sometimes for several weeks. He was always busy doing other work and I do think it would have been fairer of him to tell us he would not be able to complete some work rather than beginning it and leaving us waiting. Some work had to be redone as he sent a friend to do it who was not clear what to do. Overall the quality of his work was excellent so, if you are not in a hurry, I would recommend him.

  Jon did a rearrange of the kitchen and fitted some new units and a range cooker as well as new wooden worktops, sink, some tiling and moved a radiator. First class job completed in just a few days and tidied up left everything neat. Very pleased with the work. Excellent standard and a good price as well. Would't hesitate to use Jon again or to recommend.

  Jon did a fantastic job laying our laminate flooring, he turned up promptly, worked around any difficulties to ensure we got the finish we wanted. We were so pleased with the result that we asked him to board out our garage which looks great (he also found time to reseal our bath for us!). Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

  Jon has just finished refitting our kitchen. It was a bigger job than expected due to the state of the existing floor once the tiles were up but Jon approached every problem positively and without any fuss. The quality of work and the manner which he approached it were excellent and I would highly recommend him to anyone considering having work done.

  Jonathan has completed a first class job, converting our garage into a bedroom, with additional extensive alterations to the ground floor of our 3 storey town house in the centre of Canterbury. He has demonstrated good all round building skills and is an excellent carpenter. Jonathans quote was the best we could get locally and the job was completed less than 10% over budget despite the use of good quality materials and upgrading of several items from the original specifications. Jonathan and his team always turned up when they said they would, worked hard for the full day and left the site clean and tidy. Communications were great throughout the conversion and we were always kept well informed of progress at the end of each day. We found Jonathan and his team were always friendly and cheerful and hopefully, he will come back and do some more work for us in the future.

  Jon has been brilliant throughout the whole job. Reliable, always left the site clean and secure. The job was finished to a brilliant standard and on budget too. Any little extras that came up were always explained and agreed rather than just being put on the bill at the end for a shock!

  I was rather unsure about finding a competent builder to exchange the old aluminium door which was rather on the narrow side for a new oak one, but I did not have to worry with Jon, he arrived on time and fully discussed the job in question, reassuring me that the door would be fine and even managed to arrange it so that we could have a larger door than originally thought. A date was agreed, Jon was punctual and competent and I would highly recommend him to other users of mybuilder.com

  We Hired Jon to fit a Magnet Kitchen in our home. From start to finish he was honest, courteous, and very thorough in his work. We changed a few parts of the design during the work which he took in his stride and where parts of the kitchen were a bit tricky he just figured it out and got on with it. His estimate on price and timescale were both spot on and for the plumbing and electrical work required, Lee, Richard and Austin were equally professional and thorough in their work. All in all we are both delighted with the results and when it comes to doing the bathroom next we'll be straight on the phone to Jon to get the work done.
