The price was competitive but one of the hired help was a nightmare who trashed my garden and I even saw him snap off a branch of a tree that was supposedly in his way. Melvin ran out of money in the end and I had to stump up more cash to get the job I wanted. He was a nice guy who was trying to do his best but he needs to take more care over who he employs.

I am delighted with the work that Melvin and his team have carried out. Melvin got straight to the point and explained everything clearly step by step, before and during the works. I believe that you get what you pay for and in my case, this was a quality, polite and efficient service. If there is anything else that needs doing in my flat, then I would definitely give Melvin a call. I would not hesitate to recommend Melvin to my friends and family.

Moving house to a new area and needing a builder is a dilemma, but using mybuilder.com and finding Brightstar is a joy, I thank my lucky star. Melvin was helpful, took time to explain, helped me understand previous alterations to the house, and what was feasible, cost-effective and permissable under current building regulations. I know I can plan in the future and have an excellent builder who will work with me and help me make my mark on my new home. His crew were all gentlemen, turned up on schedule, worked efficiently and cleanly. My room looks lovely with newly skimmed walls, electrical sockets moved and increased. They returned after I decorated to refix the radiator without charge. Thanks mybuilder but I no longer need you, Melvin's is one phone number I am hanging on to, would definitely use again, and highly recommend. Brightstar should be renamed Fivestar

Very pleased with the job (full bathroom refit). Finished on time. Good quality workmanship. Very neat finish. Have had no problems since completion. Melvin & his team were very professional at all times. They were extremely courteous and tidy and always took time to ask questions to confirm our exact requirements, and to explain what was being done.

I chose Melvin on the basis of the number of jobs completed and his 100% feedback. I was not disappointed - his professional manner, sensible pricing and faultless work, combined with his ability to create a wonderful finished job when only given the briefest of outlines to work with, cannot be matched. He arrives when he says he will and his team are true professionals and I will use him again for any work required on my properties in the future. Hire Melvin and you will not be disappointed. 11 out of 10!

good job, found where the problem was quickly.

Melvin is a very nice and trustworthy person. He explain the problem very clearly and we both went out to buy the part which needed replacing. The job took a bit longer than expected but he still charged the orignal quote of £100.00 There was also a problem which Melvin could not solve so he called in a specialist Plumber to confirm the problem. Three weeks later another problem with the same toilet accured, it would not flush! I called Melvin the same day he came the next day as he was on another job, Melvin explained what the problem was, the new part it only took a few mins to solve. I will be using Melvin again. I have recommeded him to my family already!

Melvin and his labourers did a professional job, on time and on budget. They left the bathroom clean and in neat condition.

Melvin did a good job, worked quickly, left the area clean and tidy and said if I have any problems give him a call and he will come back a.s.a.p. This really impressed me and I will definitely pass his number onto my colleagues and use him in the future.

The job was to build 2 stud walls in the lounge room creating a bedroom. Melvin supplied the labour, timber, plaster boards, insulation, built door frame, relocated door, painted stud wall, decorated with wall paper and inserted skirting boards and painted same. Light switch and radiator was also re-sited. Pipe work was boxed. I was happy with the job. Melvin's worker turned up on time on a daily basis and worked till early evening. The job took approx 4 days to complete. The work was completed to a good standard and the area was left neat and tidy. I like Melvin's approach, he was professional by providing a written agreement/contract prior to commencement of work. The total cost was according to Melvin's initial quotation the only exception was the wallpaper which I decided I wanted half way through the job. If you are looking for a professional who does things in a clear and professional manner and who is not some dodgy builder then I would not hesitate to recommend Melvin.
