Architectural Services Question

Building control

I know this may sound silly but do you have to pay any fee,s etc to building control, after you have paid the agreed amount to an architect.

Hi.

Building Control do command fees for their services, all different amounts for different jobs. Sometimes architects will include them in their fees if they are dealing with planning and building control on behalf of the customer but you will have to ask them.

Your architect has probally paid the plan charge but most authorities will then have an inspection charge and a building control charge , rates vary according to work being done. Visit your local authority website with a search on Building control fees to see what you will be liable for.
