How do i fix a bumpy carpet?

I have just had a carpet laid and there are a few bumps. They said it would settle down. Is this right and how long should i wait

In some cases these bumps are creases, caused when the carpet is folded or twisted in to position. When cold these wont flatten off, it takes time for the warmth of the room to let thee settle. Sometimes the carpet will need a re stretch however. My advice would be to give the carpet 3-4 days, and if not any different ask for it to be re stretched.
