Rendering of external wall

does a full wall have to be rendered ? out the back of my house there are some damaged brinks and some holes from previous plumbing which has long been removed . but all of this is on the lower half of the wall , could it just be rendered half way up the wall or would the full wall need doing ?

Hi there
No problem in rendering half the wall, some properties are designed like this
Just for that look of breaking up the expanse of bricks, you just need to have a bell cast bead at the bottom so that the damp course is not bridged and chamfered at the top to stop water getting trapped in the edge.
