Plastering Question

plaster imperfections

We just had out house plastered after it was finished the plasterer said to just before painting go over with a trowel on the wall to take out any bumps etc. we painted our primer coat and our first coat of paint you can now see marks from the trowel through all the walls. is there a way to fix this? or will a second and third coat fix this problem.
Thanks

Sorry but I have never heard of this one, I have been asked if they (the home owner) should sand down the walls before painting, which of course if the plasterer is worth his salt should not be needed.
I did a four year apprenticeship, but these days six months in collage and they know everything. I suggest you get him back and tell him you want a professional job. I hope you have not paid him

I used to work for a plasterer, following him round painting, and thought this was the norm but sadly not. Simply he hasn't done a great job. I know have a different plasterer who has done loads of jobs for me over the last 5 years and I don't think I have ever had to sand/ fill or make good.
