Bedroom ceiling about to collapse!!

help! i need my bedroom ceiling fixing it is cracked in places and slightly bulging in places ...had surveyors report and its not too bad but needs looking at ..

Assuming that your property is old, the cracks are a typical case of the old the browning plaster starting to fail. If it's bulging then I would advise (and this is going to be dirty) to remove the old lathe and plaster and screw new boards to your joists and scim. If you can't even bear to think of that option, then the other solution is screw the boards over the old ceiling, making sure that the new screws meet the joists (this can be achieved by drilling test holes and then marking with a pencil where the joists run). If your property is new/ish, then the original builder perhaps didn't screw the plaster boards often enough, and didn't use a special jointing tape.
