drain pipe weeping leak

my sewage main down pipe is leaking at one of the joints. Is this fixable with putty or some such or does it require new pipework

With regards to this, I would replace as its most likely the rubber seal has perished. However if its really old could need repacking the cast iron joint. However doubtful.

The affected section needs to be completely cut out, and then install a new joint using shielded rubber couplings (like Fernco or Flexseal) or a new PVC section. For a temporary patch fix , clean the area and apply epoxy putty or silicone repair tape.
