Roofing Question

How do i stop severe condensation in the loft?

I recently had new pvc windows fitted with trickel vents and a new boiler relocated with the flu going through the loft space. This is my first winter in the bungalow and today I could here water dripping, opened the loft hatch and was covered in brown water droplets comming from the loft roof. Everything it wet in the loft I can hear it dripping above my head as i am typing the question. What can be done?

It sounds like the extra heat generated by the new windows & boiler are causing condensation as you thought. You probably need to increase the insulation in the roof space to 250mm and fit tile or slate vents above the insulation to allow any moisture to escape. Contact a few local roofers on this site , check their feedback and get them to quote to install sufficient vents & insulation , this should solve your problem quite easily.

check the flue is sealed and does not let any fume into the loft as this would be full of moisture.
