Bricklaying & Repointing

Water Leaking Down Walls

Anonymous user 13/10/2025 - 8.07 AM

I have had an issue with water coming in to an adjoining wall for a number of years particularly when the rain is heavy and drives in a certain westerly direction. I have had the flat roof completely refitted and have also had the pointing on the wall done, neither of which have resolved the problem. When it rains the water appears along the join of the house and caused water to run down the walls and drip from a door frame of the room. Does anyone have any idea as to what the cause may be as I am at a complete loss after having both roof and pointing done by tradesmen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

If I were you I would get a second opinion on the work you've had done on your roof and the repointing of the brickwork. If both of these have failed preventing the rain water coming in its either not been done properly or you've got another issue that needs to be resolved.

You might want mastic around the frame water doesn’t want a very big hole to get in

I've very hard to answer without photos of the area. I would recommend getting a second option from a reputable local builder.
