Hi guys I'm looking at getting my front wall knocked back and re rendered And have read I potentially need to get permission from building regulations Is this true? (for insulation purposes) Am changing as is cracks in current render

If it’s your wall and on your property, you don’t need to get permission

As long as the new finish doesn’t extend on any pathways, shared paths and the building is not listed or in conservation area

Yes this is true in my area anyway its not so much permission but if you are taking more than 25% of the external render off you have to put an application into the local authority for them to come out and inspect the property for insulation and yes you have to pay a fee 8/10 times if the inspector is tidy and you are to him you won't have to put insulation on the outside which can double or sometimes treble the cost of the job hope that helps
