Easy trim verge U

Anonymous user 14 March 2024 - 2.37 PM

New build house. In less than a year. Storm seems to have damaged fascia. 3 different areas. 2 pieces blew of and other sections are coming away from wall. Are these types of fascia less robust? How would I determine if the installation of this easy trim verge was done correctly? Should it have failed at such an early stage? And in three different locations?

If fitted correctly .fascias and dry verge covers should stand all weathers.may be in exstream cases there could be allowances on new and old properties. Trouble is alot of new houses are now thrown up,instead of being built to the best standard they should be. Another thing is location of properties.if they are exposed u put extra fittings to accommandate the area.

I am sincerely sorry that these things happen, such as the work with the soffit and fascia, which I guarantee to my clients for 5 years. Of course, the builders have done a bad job and they should be held accountable for the work they have done. Regards Zenstruction.

Hi this should all be lasting and not failing especially after such a short period of time, they have obviously been rushed and fitted inappropriately with incorrect fixings or not enough fixings, Regardless of the location of the property. The location should have been taken into consideration and adequate measures should have been put into to place. It sounds to me me like it's bèn a rush job and corners have been cut. Trouble is nowadays a lot of new builds are thrown up and price work is involved but a proper tradesman/woman who take pride in their work would do a proper job and this problem would not occur. The dry verge system fitted correctly and each individually screwed and in an an area where more exposed to high winds etc would probably use ct1 or another strong adhesive aswell as adequate screws/fixings. Hope this helps
