Can i tile over a silicone patchy surface

OK, I have a problem. We had stick on false tiles on the kitchen walls. Im taking them off but my late hubby had stuck them on with silicone (though he had used no more nails but no luck). Its stuck like the proverbial to a blanket. Im trying my hardest to get it off, does every single scrap have to be removed if I want the walls tiling with proper tiles or will the grout stick????

Hi, you should be able to get some silicone remover from any good diy supplier, this will make removing it easier. The better condition the walls are behind the tiles the easier it is to get a good standard of finish with the tiles, also you should not be sticking them with grout, you should use tile adhisve.
