Bathroom Fitting

Who does "snagging"?

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.47 PM

Hello experts, I am about to choose a team to do a bathroom re-fit (approx £8k) and want to understand the idea of snagging at the end of a project. I imagine a lot of it is down to a good working relationship between the tradesperson and the client. But how does it work, please?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

"Snagging" is a necessary process of identifying issues with your new build property. Snagging issues range from leaks, heating faults, un-level ceilings, floors and walls, damaged units, missing insulation, poor joinery and structural issues. Re-fit a bathroom for 8k ish, its a lot of money from my POV as a aproved active contractor in bathrooms bedrooms and kitchens for TOP 5 big companies in the UK `Snagging` should be done by the end of the job without any questions, its part of the deal from the job itself Please be carefull on your budget and the people that you spend money on Good luck!

Hi, A snag list is a list of small jobs that need to be completed at the end of the project. These jobs usually come as a result of working on another job which disturbs a previous completed section. For example, accidentally knocking painted walls which need a touch up or added extras by the client. Usually a good tradesman will complete the snag list that they created however, any small additional add ons from the client may come at a cost. Hope this helps!

Snagging is odd jobs to be completed by the company you’re hiring to do the work. Usually finishing touches or rectifying small issues. This would be the time you would look around the bathroom and make sure your happy with everything and that it’s all working etc Hope this helps

Snagging in this case is the making good of any faults or leaks etc, after an inspection by the client, when the job is finished. This should not include any major works or alterations which should have been communicated during the job.
