Electrical dimmer. Best one? Pros and Cons

Anonymous user 16 March 2024 - 2.52 PM

It’s been a long time that I’ve had a dimmer installed. Experience with them is that the buttons become loose with presss and over time flicker. Is there a particular brand or the standard dimmers have improved? Any thoughts?

V Pro dimmers are excellent, they're what I install in customers houses.

Hi, before selecting a dimmer switch you need to consider the load you are going to be switching, there are different types of dimmers for different types of loads. Also the lamps being used have to be suitable to use with a dimmer switch. I would suggest getting advise of a electrician as there is a lot to be considered including Bluetooth and WiFi controlled dimmable lighting.

Dimmer switches can fail over time no matter the brand is just a luck of the draw sometimes but MK or Schneider is usually the go to brands for quality. It seems like a silly thing to say but people do forget, just remember to buy dimmerble bulbs and if you have LED lights that you have an LED dimmer switch.

I normally use v pro, they have a good range of compatibility with different lighting types.
