Windows & Door fitting

Condensation on bifolds

Anonymous user 9 March 2024 - 3.36 PM

Hi I had bifold doors fitted along the back of my house and I notice now during the winter months that there is condensation all along the bottom. I noticed there is no silicone from floor to doors should there be and would this rectify the issue? Any help would be massively appreciated x

A bit of condensation on bifold doors or windows is nothing to worry about. The glass is protecting you, and if installed properly, you just need to give it a quick wipe. The real problem occurs when there is condensation in between the panes. You know this is the case if you cannot clean it from the inside or outside.

Hi, Make sure that the doors are properly fitted, adjusted and do not allow air to pass through. lack of proper sealing of the door frame. Checking the ventilation flow. If none of the above, I would advise you to contact the manufacturer. I hope my advice will be useful. good luck.

Most new houses are now so well insulated it causes condensation when we shower ,sleep , cook , use dryer etc . Try opening a window slightly when doing any of these . It's not anything to worry about
