50m2 floor excavation for underfloor heating

Anonymous user 24 February 2024 - 2.30 PM

We have a 50s property which I understand means there is unlikely to be floor insulation. What's a park figure for doing the floors right and installing underfloor heating? A heatpump and then pv solar will be added in the next few years so it makes sense. The ceilings are low so low profile add ons are not going to work. Milling ufh is an option but it can't be that efficient imo.

Hi Eddy, I'm afraid your question is impossible to answer on here. You require a contractors visit to your home to supply a quote for the works. I hope this helps. Regards Paul

Hey Eddy, Glad to hear you're investing in renewable energy. In regards to the flooring, no one knows whats under the flooring until you rip it up, but either with solid concrete or floorboards, id say first step is to look at pricing up : -warm up 12mm insulation boards -warm up loose wire electric underfloor heating (they have rolls to cover set sqm) -price your floor finish whether it be wood, tile or epoxy. -then roughly £30 - £70 a sqm including labour and materials, again depending on what your chosen finish will be as tiles need adhesive & grout etc But before any of this get a renewable energy specialist round to give you free advice, in regards to electrical requirements for solar panels to run your underfloor heating etc. Again so many variables Eddy it's hard to really say without looking at it. But hope this helps slightly.
