Yesterday we removed the wallpaper from our 1930’s mid terrace house. It was all very old and underneath we found lots of hairline cracks. They were horizontal and vertical, around 4 long cracks across each wall. Each crack has been filled with some sort of white filler. The cracks are mainly still filled. They are mainly on the inside walls of the house, and mainly upstairs. Are they anything to worry about? Should we: A) just go ahead and paint over them, B) open up the cracks and refill (as my dad suggested) C) skim the walls (can we do this ourselves if my dad has experience with plastering) D) alternatively put up plasterboard. E) Or do I need to get our surveyor back round to inspect? Thanks so much
