Bathroom Fitting

Victoria Plum - quality?

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.52 PM

We're looking at a new bathroom. We first went to a small, independent place and they quoted us silly money, as it seems they use expensive brands. Then we looked at Victoria Plum and Victorian Plumbing and they're both far, far cheaper, to the point that I'm struggling to spend any sort of significant sum on the entire bathroom suite. They say you get what you pay for. Currently I've put together a basket containing a vanity unit (sink/cabinet), toilet and bath, for ~£1300. Has anyone used them, and how's the quality, given how cheap they are? Thank you in advance.

It all depends on what u are buying from them. They both have cheap budget stuff and both have good quality stuff.

Hi mitya. I did fit appliances from Victorian plumbing before and the quality was excellent, i used to fit my life before and i was really surprised how similar quality was to more expensive brands. I’m not sure if they have their own brand or they are buying stuff from different companies so each different bath could be coming from different supplier. My advice would be to read reviews from each product separately.

Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with Victoria plum. Thers a price for everyone. It's all about quality control. If it's damaged, take a photo and they will change it, that goes with all suppliers. As long as its fit for purpose, why not. And look for how long the warranty is and what is covered.

Prices and quality vary tremendously. I suggest you involve your fitter and almost certainly avoid the small expensive outlet. The local small independent that I use go out of their way to provide value for money. My experiences with with client buying direct from Victoria Plum etc have not been great e.g. mis matched parts, Chinese made shower block that would not seal due to design / manufacturing fault, some parts lower quality although not everything is that bad but I now refuse to fit privately resourced internet parts unless I am full involved and even then would prefer to use my local, supplier for fast and efficient exchange etc if required.

I have found in the past when a customer has supplied sanitary ware items from the above supplier that they are more trouble than it’s worth, bits missing, damaged chinaware and poor after sales service a lot of the time.
