Hi, I am considering having a balanced flue gas fire in a chimmney that baks onto an external wall. I plan to get a gas safe engineer to do this work if I do go ahead but at this stage am doing basic research. I don't have a specific balanced flue gas fire in mind so want general advice re the below. The walls are extremely thick and solid. I've measured the width of one of the walls and it is 50cm which equals approx 20 inches. There's also the additional gap of the chimmney to consider. I've come across the following online re balanced flues: "> The maximum flue length is 370mm. If the wall thickness exceeds 350mm then the installation cannot proceed." Is the above correct? What is the maximum length that a horizontal balanced flue pipe can extend from the gas fire out through the wall to the outside? I know extension kits can be purchased for balanced flues. Thank you
