Swapping front door locks

Anonymous user 13 March 2024 - 2.31 PM

I have what I believe to be an old Yale 77 night latch that I would like to update, ideally to an Era night latch with a 60mm backplate. Will this work? I accept that the Era backplate is smaller than the Yale so some filling will be needed but I imagine there might be other issues.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

This should be fairly straightforward. The cylinder centre for the Yale is 60mm so it should be the same as the Era. You will just need to connect the cylinder to the backplate as per instructions. There may be a little filling required to the edge of the door where the lip of the old lock was fitted.
