Old and new shower tripping
Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.45 PM
Hi please help if possible thanks.
My old shower started tripping out when put on high (3modes l,m,h)
so bought a new shower (cheap one) still doing it,
On low it’s fine but obviously freezing,
Medium, can get it just warm enough not to cry, and high just trips every time.
Replaced the pull cord trip but still doing it.
We have an system I think, big water tank in the atick and big boiler in the cupboard underneath, also when you move the shower head to, let’s say rinse the soap off the middle area it goes freezing. Hopefully someone knows a fix without spending loads. Thank you.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?
Hi Andy, we first need the make and model of the shower, in addition the details of the circuit, cable size, breaker size and breaker type, and confirmation of RCD protection by type and it's tripping time when tested from the shower feed location. If you are unsure of these terms you need a competent electrician to assess really. Your shower may be fed by the boiler, or it may not, there are too many variables in the info currently provided, anyone giving you an answer without the details I advise you provide as above, will be guessing at best, so take what they say at your own risk. Hope this helps you offer up the relevant details required so an accurate answer/advice can be forthcoming. All the best. DMELECTRICAL.
