How can I fix a slightly linen concrete in post support?

Anonymous user 16 March 2024 - 2.50 PM

I have a concrete in post support (top recipient height 15cm) in my garden which leans slightly after having been put inside the concrete, and the concrete is dried. So the support it's not completely straight. Then the post in place in the support it's not completely straight either when is in. How can I correct it? Now I can't move the support because the concrete is dried, so I wonder if I can cut a little bit either the bottom or the side of the post to give it the inclination that would make it straight when is inside the linen support?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like you are referring to a concreted in post spike made of metal? If so the only good solution is to take it out and replace it with a post of the correct length, preferably using a post saver sleeve or a concrete support spur. If you cut the post near the ground level it will rot quickly and you will need to replace it soon anyway so better to do the job right the first time

good afternoon, the support must be removed together with the concrete outside, the concrete broken and fixed again with new concrete

Wouldn’t recommend making an attempt to modify the post support itself in some way you would likely only compromise the post support and it would just be a bodge job. Really the concrete around the existing post support should be cut, broken out and then re install the post support correctly or a post of the required length with new concrete.

Just dig a hole around the base and move it

You would need to break out the old concrete and re level the post and put new post Crete around it
