Starting work when house is not weatherproof

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.45 PM

Currently my property is not weatherproof. There have been delays in windows and doors and I anticipate everything to be weatherproof 4th April. We were originally planning to start work in a couple of weeks. I wondered if we could start with the mist coat + rubdown whilst we wait for the house to be weatherproof? Does it matter if there is a big delay between the mist coat and first coat, or would you recommend that the entire house is weatherproof before commencing any work?

Don't start painting untill the house is weatherproof and all the walls, ceilings and woodwork are fully dry.

I wouldn,t reccomend doing any work unless everything weathertight. You could put a mist coat on but personally i would not do it.

Frustrating position to be in, sadly there are few shortcuts so best to wait till weathertight to allow for better drying conditions.
