Does the gas supply need to be capped? Mine has just been disconnected

If it's no longer used it should be capped and the system checked before capping and after for gas tightness.

As stated by SJS heating above. Gas tightness test should have been carried prior moving the cooker. Gas supply capped and, second gas tightness test post gas supply being capped to ensure system is gas tight and there no gas leaks.
