Do we need to replace missing bricks in chimney breast

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.51 PM

We took out a 90s brick facade that had been built into the chimney breast. It has left an empty row on bricks on each side under the mantle. Is this structurally sound or do we need to replace the bricks?

Hi . Depending only if the chimney breast is completely demolished and is not in operation then just make sure that the remaining bricks are safe and won't fall, you don't have to put them. but if you think that the bricks that are there are not safe I advise you to put the Round of Bricks back for safety. Many thanks Have a good evening
