landlord gas safety certificate

Please can you advise me regarding a job done for gas safety check and boiler service. I booked on 'my builder' and discussed with an engineer and for the job someone with different name turned up and apart for making a lot of mistakes when issuing the certificate he gave me the registration number of the other guy. I am very confused, I want to pay but he did not even put the company's bank details on the invoice.
Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

He shouldn’t be using someone else gas safe number as only the registered person is the only one that can do that. Also in carrying out the work could’ve put you in an unsafe situation I would advise you get the registered person back or use a different company/person to make sure it’s safe hope this helps

Go to Gas Safe's web site and enter the person who attended gas registration number most times you will see a photograph of the registered engineer, start here >>>>>> 'Find an engineer or check the register' Obviously if the person who attended looks nothing like the picture then he is a bogus operative and an act of fraud has taken place where you must report the matter immediately to Gas Safe for this operative could potentially be putting peoples lives at risk!

Always ask to see the engineers ID card. If in doubt ring the gas safe register

1st Class Gas
They could all be working under the same business Gas Safe ID number, but each card issued had a different licence number for the individual. Type in business name and check out all the engineers.
