Removing a rodding pipe and not capping it off?

Anonymous user 16 March 2024 - 2.48 PM

I have a shared garden, and have found out the downstairs neighbour has removed a rodding pipe section, as it came up on her side of the garden, and she wanted a level garden.... Now I am getting waste water coming up through my kitchen sink when doing a clothes wash and gurgling drains. What is happening? A smell is also accompanying the water.

This sounds like a good example of a separate issue and there being a blocked drain. It’s unlikely to be connected unless it’s a combine sewer. And is unlikely with a rodding point. The kindest of regards

It's hard to say what it can or cannot be without physically investigating. It could be anything from a simple blockage to a collapsed waste pipe or air lock. It's really difficult to tell without seeing it.
