Shed waste water

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.44 PM

We are looking to install a shed in our garden to use as a workspace. This will have a sink in. Getting the water out to the shed is a simple job. Can the waste be directed from the shed to the house and connected up to the kitchen waste pipe? 5m run from shed to back of house to kitchen. Or does it need to go direct to a mains sewer? Which is about 100 yards away.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I would recommend running it to the mains sewer safer option

If kitchen drains into a gulley that is external to the building then that could be replaced with a back inlet gulley to take both. If kitchen runs into an internal stack then is more tricky, in this situation i would pipe it into the nearest manhole that is suitable

Just fine the 4” pipe that the kitchen waste eventually drops into, then connect in that.
