Anonymous user 1 March 2024 - 2.59 PM

So im having my bathrooms redone and want a floor laid in herringbone. My plumber has now said his tiler won't to it because it takes to long and its not worth the money. Is herringbone really that big of a deal i thought it was quite x0mmon

Very common. It a difficult job to do and not everyone is capable and if the tiler is refusing to do it he’s being courteous instead of doing it and doing a bad job

Hering bone tiling is as easy as any other just takes a little more time so expect to pay a little more.

Herringbone is generally more time consuming to lay, involves more cuts and careful planning, I would expect to pay more for something like that. That being said an experienced tiler shouldn’t have any problems if the budget allows.

Herringbone tiling takes more time to set out and needs to be done right. The tiler is maybe just questioning the value of the job and wether it’s worth it or not.

Herringbone tiling is more time consuming with more cuts than usual. Also the price is more higher than normal tiling so every tiler will ask for more money for the job.
