Damp Proofing

New window fitted

Anonymous user 1 March 2024 - 2.58 PM

We have just had the height of our window lifted up by two breeze block at the bottom our problem is it is now single brick until you get to the double brick which is below the kitchen work top then it goes to double brick. Just wandering how I damp proof the block above the work top to stop damp coming through from outside and do I do it down to the double brick or just the block showing which I can just about reach. The outside has been done and also painted with masonary paint just wandered should we put damp paint on the inside as well. Hope this makes sense.

There is no such thing as ‘damp paint’, that’s a marketing ploy. Heat loss is probably your greatest risk . Make sure the plaster , not render , does not exceed 2mm in thickness or you will have a damp issue .
