Fascias, Soffits & Guttering

Is this fitted right

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.43 PM

Hi, I'm currently having a single pitched roof done with no eaves hanging over because they go into nabours garden. and they have just fitted the fascia board and I don't think it it's fitted correctly. They have cut the fascia board and screwed it onto the wall plate but it is still showing the bottom of it. So I presume that rain water will eventually sit inbetween the plate and wall bricks. There is also a gap in some parts of the wall and plate and would presume that water will eventually get through and travel to the inner wall causing damp?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

your wall plate & trusses is what your fascia & soffits protect from the weather if its not covering them then you are correct in the fact the wood will rot allowing water ingress to the inner brick creating dampness good luck Alex
