You would need a FENSA certificate after replacing a window or door in your house.

You can have Fensa pass them off or you can have your local council do it.

It is not a legal requirement to have fensa registration, neither does it guarantee a standard of work. However if you were to sell your property it is a box that needs ticking by the solicitors or mortgage people. It doesnt stop a house sale goin through but it can hold it up a bit.

Not necessary FENSA
But you need to get building regulation certificate.
You can go direct to your local building control and fill in an application form, costs vary.
