Painting & Decorating Question

Painting plaster

I have had my house re-wired about 2 week ago and was wondering if I could just paint on top of it with normal emulsion or would I have to water it down? Any help would be grateful

If you are only painting plaster where the walls have been channelled out it should be ok if you just put a light coat on first and then build it up.

HI i always put a mist coat on bare plaster [ emulsion very thinned down with water] otherwise if you apply neat. The paint will not stick and could crack and peel because it has,nt been sealed . you can apply a mist coat as soon as the plaster is dry you should put 3 parts water to 1 part emulsion then 3 parts emulsion to 1 part water hope this helps
