Double oven and ceramic hob

Anonymous user 9 March 2024 - 3.28 PM

Hi can a ceramic hob fit into a double oven..I've been told by 2 kitchen fitters I need a conduction hob with a 13 amp fuse ..then I was told today that I don't need a conduction hob as the double oven and hob be hot wired into a actual cooker socket ! Please advise thx

I apologise if I am not fully understanding your question. If you mean 'can an oven and hob share a connection' then yes, they can. You would use a dual cooker outlet plate as manufactured by Click Scolmore PRW217. Please don't take advice from kitchen fitters, they are not qualified to advise on electrical related matters.

It would depend on the rating of the job and double oven but both should be on separate circuits.

Hobs generally cannot be wired into the cooker outlet. The cooker outlet may be fused at 32 Amps and the hob may be fused at 13 Amps or less. Best get advise from a competent electrician.
