Electrical

Shower power cutting out

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 4.03 PM

I have an electric shower and lately it's been cutting out after about 3 or 4 minutes of working, before starting again a few seconds later. It doesn't trip the fuse board but the light in my socket however does go out before coming back on. I have replaced the solenoid valve in the shower and the switch itself as well as testing the wiring within the switch. Any ideas? Could it be another element in the electric shower that's causing this? Thanks

Evening, I would strongly recommend contacting your local electrician to take a look & assess the fault.

Would recommend to call a electrician with the knowledge of electrical showers.

Most electric showers have a Thermal cut out switch. This could be at fault. this can be tested for correct operation. There are videos on how to do this, however please do not do any testing unless you know what you are doing and the electricity has been disconnected. Ultimately through experience we tend to find the quickest solution unless it is an expensive or specialised shower is to replace the entire unit.
