Gas Work Question

Boiler repair or replace

We have a stelrad ideal w2000 basic boiler which we had fitted in 1989 we have never had any problems until today. It has rained badly and the wind or rain has come through the flue which is on an outside wall, i noticed water on my worktop (the boiler is wall mounted inside a cabinet) the pilet light had gone out so when my partner came home he re-lit the pilot we used our proggrammer to put the water on, the clock is sending the signal to the boiler but it will not fire up.

because of the age of the boiler, and is non condensing i would recomend a new condensing boiler if finances will stretch,i would not recommend spending any money on repairs as this money could go to the cost of a new boiler,i hope this helps you.
